A coffee with Sienna

A coffee with Sienna

Let’s start with a little introduction: Who is Sienna?

Surprisingly, I find that an interesting question. Who am I at core? Someone who is equal parts driven by instinct as I am by reason. Both considered and spontaneous, disciplined yet creative, grounded but always curious. I’m constantly navigating the space between these extremes, not trying to resolve them, but to find balance within them.

I’m drawn to art, culture and philosophy. To anything that deepens the human experience and brings more intention to the everyday. I’m interested in how moments can subtly shift into something more meaningful.

Currently that way of thinking is being poured into building the world of CHOPIT. An exploration of functional art, and what it means to elevate the everyday.

Where did you grow up, and where is home currently?

I grew up in Melbourne Australia, which is still currently home for me.

Cutting boards are such an everyday object. What led you to reimagine them as something more design-focused and create CHOPIT?

Cutting boards are one of those overlooked essentials, used daily but rarely reconsidered.

After finishing high school, I spent my weekends creating grazing tables. The rustic-styled abundant spreads often located in barns for weddings. We’d layer gourmet cheeses, vegetables and dips across all styles of wooden chopping boards: long, round and oversized.

In that process my perception of the cutting board shifted. It moved beyond being just functional.

I sat with that shift, knowing there was opportunity to explore the intersection of function and design more deliberately, particularly with the chopping board.

Where do you find inspiration for your bold and sculptural designs?

Art, always. It’s the principles and elements. Galleries, books, architecture, fashion. The quiet details that whisper through the everyday, waiting to be noticed.

Have your past experiences helped you in the success of your own brand?

Absolutely. I love this question, because every chapter I’ve experienced has, in some way, led me here. It’s very much aligned with the idea of ikigai, incremental steps that overtime bring you closer to the goal.

At 13, I was creating cooking content simply for the joy of it, sharing it online - before influencers were a term in the space. That early start led to understanding social media and building partnerships with emerging brands. I grew genuine interest in the brands I worked with, watching how they evolved to where they are today.

I later taught Pilates, which shaped my ability to hold presence and communicate with clarity. And working in blockchain technology, exposed me to fast moving, ever evolving landscapes in society (where adaptability isn’t optional, its necessary).

Each of those experiences informed a different part of how I think and operate today. It’s ultimately shaped how I build and create.

What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned since launching CHOPIT?

Fail forward and fail quickly. It’s impossible to get everything perfect, you learn by doing, guided by instinct, not by waiting. My best advice was that you will never feel prepared enough and business is truly one of those things you only learn on the job.

If you could host a dinner with three guests (with Lepelclub tableware of course), who would you invite?

Hailey Bieber would be at the table. I have a lot of respect for her resilience and the way she’s built her brand with such clarity and intention. Theres a sharpness to Rhode and her marketing instinct that I really admire.

Steven Bartlett would be there too. I’ve spent too much time listening to Diary of a CEO that it almost feels like we're already friends. I simply feel he has a world of knowledge given all the greats he has engaged with.

And then, Joel Robuchon. His level of mastery is something I’m fascinated by (he has received the most Michelin Stars in history). The idea of experiencing that kind of precision and artistry firsthand would be incredible. I’d quietly hope he arrives with something prepared.

What are three things you’re currently obsessed with, creatively or personally?

  1. Soap bars, there’s something about the tactility that outweigh gels for me.
  2. Substack, a glimmer into how people think and experience the world.
  3. Dining alone, a ritual I truly value. I’m a big believer that the longest relationship you will ever have is with yourself and you need to nurture it.

The very important Lepelclub question: How do you take your coffee?

Soy Latte (strong because I’m a Melbourne girl) + a dust of coco on top.
