A cocktail with Faye Veugelers
Hey! Can you tell us a bit more about yourself?
Hey there, I sure can! Thank you for having me!
I am 24 years old, raised in Spain and moved around a lot. But have been calling Amsterdam my home for the past 7 years, not sure for how much longer though! Can’t sit still, so don’t be surprised if I pack my bags again anytime soon. Independent, very indecisive, and love to enjoy life with my loved ones.
How did you come up with the idea for Dore and Rose? And how did you start?
I started this brand with two friends, believing that skincare should be as easy as going to bed at night. Finding out that cotton contains more bacteria than your toilet seat after 3 days, was quite a shocker and our trigger to make a difference. That’s how we created our Skin Recovering Silk Pillowcase, infused with silver ions, killing 99.7% of bacteria. A real game changer for anyone who wants to achieve healthier skin.
What do you love most about what you do?
Creating, achieving, and kicking ass. I have two great partners and we really lift each other to another level, that’s so important! It’s nice to keep on learning and the responses from customers really are heartwarming. I’ve always wanted to make a difference, and now doing that in different bedrooms around the world! Oehh, don’t go thinking dirty there 😜.
How do you stir things up?
Me, myself and I! I’m kind of always the clown in the room, at least that’s what others say haha. I love to enjoy some good food, drinks and dance it all off afterward.
What is your favorite cocktail?
A Moscow Mule really gets me.
What is your biggest dream?
To one day be proud of what I have achieved in life! Not there yet at all, but dedication and set goals will help me get there. Making Dore & Rose a global brand, being the pillowcase everyone sleeps on and exploring more of this beautiful world we live in.
What’s the best advice you have ever received?
My father once said: “Never think of yourself as the victim, once you start doing that, you’re fucked. Never approach anything as a problem, but always think of solutions”. That’s what I live by.
