A coffee with Keeley

Hi Keeley! Welcome to the club, can you tell us about yourself?
Hello! Lovely to meet you all, and I’m so happy to be the newest member of the club! I am a 23 year old recent masters graduate. I’m originally from the states, but moved to Amsterdam two years ago. I have a huge passion for all things creative and styled, so I am very excited to contribute and develop my skills with the Lepelclub team and join all the exciting growth happening with the brand!
Alongside Lepelcub, I am a reformer pilates teacher as well as an avid class-taker. I also enjoy trying the newest restaurants in town (yes, I have lists on lists hehe!), seeing as much of the world as I possibly can, finding the coolest second-hand clothing pieces, and spending as much time as I can with my loved ones. <3
What was it like growing up in Minnesota, and what made you end up in Amsterdam?
Although I loved growing up in a (very) small town in the midwest and all of the values and community that came with it, I have always had the urge to fulfil those big city dreams and see the world! I always said one day I would live in Europe, so I decided to make that move two years ago to Amsterdam for my masters. I have completely fallen in love with life here and really found myself, my passions, and some of my closest people. I am so grateful to have two very different experiences and to call two places home!
How did you discover Lepelclub?
My lovely roommate kindly shared the posting for the internship and thought it would be a great fit for me. She spoke very highly of Jill and the products, so I applied. I met with Jill that week and we instantly connected. I left feeling so energized by the conversation and that she would really help me flourish and learn tons!
If you could have dinner with any three guests (and featuring any Lepelclub tableware) who and what would it be?
Hosting is one of my favorite things to do (got it from my mama!) so any chance I get, I take! I love curating pretty tablescapes and including food as part of the art too! My style is very minimalistic, so I would definitely have the Pearl Glass Clear Coupes for a nice natural orange wine, multiple clear Dolly Candle Clear Lanterns set up along the table for a moody ambience, and a comforting home-cooked meal. And a nice sweet treat for dessert is always a must!
For guests, my mind immediately goes to the other three women in my family. :) My mom Sheila, who’s also my best friend, and my two sister-in-laws, Taylor and Alexa. We have formed such a tight bond that I am so lucky to have. We can talk for hours about all things fashion, yummy food, and life, so these are some of my fondest memories of dinner parties and girls’ nights!
What does an average day in the life look like for you?
Not one day looks the same! I thrive in a changing environment and love to be stimulated/challenged by new things, but typically I wake up and either go for a run or workout, pick out a fun outfit for the day, do my tasks, enjoy a nice dinner with friends and then relax at home with a good show and of course call home at least once a day as well! A matcha from a cute cafe is also an essential stop for me too. ;)
How do you plan on stirring things up in the future?
I love connecting with others and fostering new relationships, so I hope to continue building on those relationships through Lepelclub! I also love learning about new things and others. Because of that, I feel like my life trajectory is constantly changing and opening new paths/passions. I have no doubt that will stir up my future in the best way, and I will continue to embrace living in the moment!
What’s one thing nobody would expect about you?
Although I love all things fashion and creative, I am a huge sports fan and played basketball and volleyball growing up, and collegiately in the states! Nothing beats a Sunday in the fall watching an American football game surrounded by family, friends, and good food.
And as always, how do you take your coffee?
As much as I have tried to like coffee, I am a part of the matcha only club! My go-to order is a matcha latte with coconut milk (Alpro has my heart) and no sweetener–the “grassier” the better. ;) Always a bonus when it includes good company and conversation in an aesthetic cafe!
