A coffee with Lieke

Welcome to the club, Lieke! Let’s start with a little intro — who are you?

Hi! My name is Lieke, I’m a second-year student at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. I’m currently studying Communication, which I absolutely love. I’m very creative and I enjoy making and creating things myself.

Where did you grow up and where do you live now?

I was born in Assendelft, a small village near Zaandam. I still live there with my parents and my brother. I grew up in an environment where everyone knew each other and everything was close by, which was really nice.

How did you discover Lepelclub?

I saw a TikTok about the super cute Alpro spoons that were being sold at Albert Heijn. I really wanted them, but unfortunately I was too late and they were already sold out. Luckily, I still got some through Lepelclub, which made me so happy! Starting the day with a cute spoon in your coffee just makes everything better.

If you could have dinner with any three guests (and featuring any Lepelclub tableware), who and what would it be?

I would have dinner with my three best friends and cook a cozy, elaborate meal together with fun drinks. The Bow Collection would definitely have to be on the table. The beautiful champagne glasses with delicious drinks, combined with the Lepelclub x Matilda Bea Table Dress, would be perfect.

What’s one thing nobody would expect about you?

Since I was ten years old, I’ve been able to make my own clothes. I took sewing classes for about five years. Because I was already good with a sewing machine and really enjoyed it, I started making my own clothing items two years ago and even sold them for a while. I made blazers with special sleeves or recycled jeans and used them as sleeves in blazers.

How would you describe your perfect day?

A perfect day for me would be a relaxing Sunday. Waking up with my boyfriend, making breakfast together, going for a walk in the afternoon and grabbing a nice coffee or matcha somewhere. In the evening, having drinks or cocktails on a terrace with my friends, or going to a festival with them — I really love that.

What’s one thing you are obsessed with right now?

I’m shopping way too much, especially since I booked a holiday to Mallorca with my friends. There are so many moments to shop for: daytime outfits, cute beach looks, dinner outfits, and going-out outfits. There’s just so much to choose from!

And of course, the Lepelclub classic: how do you take your coffee?

I also work at a café, so I’ve tried a lot of different coffees. Still, my favorite is a basic cappuccino with caramel syrup and caramel sauce. When it’s warmer, or if I’ve had too much coffee already, I also really love a matcha with coconut milk and strawberry.
