A coffee with Vive

Great to have you with us, Vive! Can you tell us a bit about yourself, please?
Thanks for "coming home" to my favorite club! <3
I am a "Brabander," an old-school romantic (Vive l’Amour), an introvert, a creative, and a Gemini. I’m a dog person, interior lover, and sun seeker. I’m down to earth and love fashion and makeup just as much as chill outfits. I’m a Thai food lover who needs 8+ hours of sleep and I can go crazy over paper and packaging. I’m really not a multitasker; I'm a dreamer and happy to have been part of the Lepelclub family for a very long time now.
Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
I was born and raised in a small village in Brabant (south of the Netherlands). I moved to the "big city," Amsterdam, for my studies and stuck around for several more years to work in that inspiring environment. However, I missed my friends and family a little too much, so I decided to move back to Brabant. I now live in Den Bosch, which is a very cozy little city!
Please share more about what you do at Lepelclub, and what has been your favorite project so far?
The fun story is that Lepelclub was one of my very first clients, and I’ve loved the LC journey from the very beginning. It all started with the lovely connection Jill and I have; we really find each other in the LC style and creativity. All LC projects are very different; from designing collections to directing shoots, I come and go throughout the entire process, haha. My favorite LC project was Maison & Objet, where we realized Jill’s dream in Paris. It was such a great adventure to do with the whole team!
We are obsessed with your cushions! What led you to create Hogaría?
So sweet! I am obsessed with them too, haha. Besides branding, my heart is full of interior design. Since I couldn't find the right cushions after renovating our home in Den Bosch, I decided to follow one of my dreams and start my own brand. And guess what.. I finally found the perfect cushions! ;) It’s such a beautiful item to easily switch up the mood of your favorite room, adding depth and warmth without having to do a major renovation.
What is your key to balancing projects for multiple clients along with building your own brand?
Oh, I haven’t solved this puzzle yet! But I think the key is being very flexible. Every day I spend time on Hogaría as well as on design projects. The days are very full, but I really love the balance and variety. This keeps me motivated because I am not a "9-5, go to the office" kind of person. I’m so grateful for where I am right now with my work, doing the things I love.
How do you wind down after a long day?
I go to Pilates or go for a cycling class; it depends on whether I’m in the mood for relaxing or some speed. I also like doing groceries and cooking some nice food. Not a very interesting answer, I guess.
What is something you cannot live without right now?
That would be my furry friend Koosje. I love her so much, haha!
We can’t resist asking: how do you take your coffee?
I always feel a bit boring because I’m a simple person: I drink my coffee black. With an LC spoon, of course! <3
